Mansur K. Rashid is a photographer, creative visionary and an award winning film director, producer, writer, editor. Currently he is located in Atlanta, GA in the process of expanding the M.K. STUDIOS brand to the wider community. He's been a General Production intern for The Tonight Show: Starring Jimmy Fallon. Mansur is the visionary behind the first narrative short film on police brutality currently being streamed on KweliTV and was accepted into 17 film festivals. He also has two other short films and a feature length film in post-production. 

 

Education: Mansur graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors from Howard University in the Spring of 2019. There he competed his BA in Media, Journalism, and Film Communications with a Minor in Photography. Despite his education Mansur has been doing film and photography since he was 10 years old which gives him over 10+ years of visionary experience.

Four of his photographs have been displayed in Gallery 1280 at Atlanta's Woodruff Arts Center in Midtown. He was the creator and co-curator of a photography exhibition at NYU in Abu Dhabi starring Howard University photographers' works. Mansur has also had 5 of his prints displayed at the Caboose Distillery in Fairfax, VA.

 

Mansur was the student photographer (2 years) for the BET sponsored and May Sister Entertainment created Howardwood event at Howard University. He directed and produced the recorded coverage involving over 15 photographers and videographers during the Def Jam Sponsored event with WHBC 96.3 HD3 (Howard's Hottest). He also holds two Howard University School of Communications Paul Robeson Awards: one for Creative Excellence in Photojournalism & another for Editing in a Film.


Mansur has traveled the world (14+ countries) and spent majority of his childhood (10 years) overseas in Dubai, UAE. In high school he spent 6 weeks in the mountains of Indonesia teaching village youth English. Mansur has also studied 16mm film for a semester at FAMU in Prague which resulted in directing a short film starring the Czech Opera Singer Klára Cibulková.
